I read books and use graduate school to cover up for my intellectual insecurities. One day I hope to argue almost exclusively from authority.

Shouldn’t UD have required an “intellectual autobiography” instead? Was it really an option to write about ANYBODY and you chose yourself? Sounds either lazy or narcissistic.

Did they ask for an “intellectual biography about yourself”? In that case, you should have out-sourced it. It wouldn’t even have to have been a ghost writer; you could have submitted it as “Fear and Clothing: an intellectual biography of D. Cole Simmons” by Paul S. Thompson.
